The Networking Social is an exclusive event designed for alumni who are in college and early in their careers, with the goal of connecting them with professionals and helping them explore potential roles.

The event will will include light bites, drinks, free headshots, a scholarship giveaway, a pre-networking workshop exclusive to alumni, and each YWPN student will leave with a special gift.

What to look forward to

  • We will offer free headshots to everyone in attendance. Headshots will be sent to attendees directly 2 weeks after social.

  • Any YWPN Alumni is invited to attend the workshop from 5:00-5:45pm prior to the start of the social. This interactive workshop will inform students how to effectively network.

  • We will have two scholarships that we will give away the night of the event. Be sure to enter in the drawing when you check in at the event.

  • This event is a fantastic opportunity to expand your network and find a mentor, with recruiters present to discuss internship and job roles. Don't miss this chance to connect with professionals and explore new career opportunities.

Pre-Networking Workshop

Exclusive to YWPN Alumni, the Pre-Networking Workshop will be hosted from 5:00 PM to 5:45 PM. Students will engage in a hands-on workshop informing them how to network effectively.

Confident Connections: How to Network Without the Awkwardness

Networking doesn’t have to feel awkward or transactional. In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore how to approach networking in a way that feels natural, energizing, and true to who you are. You’ll learn practical communication strategies that help you build rapport, spark meaningful conversations, and stand out—without pretending to be someone you’re not. Together, we’ll reframe what networking means and discover how to confidently connect with others by using your unique strengths and personality. Whether you’re attending a big event or chatting over coffee, you’ll leave with tools to make genuine, memorable impressions.

LeAnne Legasse, SHRM-SCP

LeAnne Lagasse is an HR consultant and keynote speaker who helps leaders and organizations improve their employee engagement and retention and develop their people managers. LeAnne is a SHRM-SCP, a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths© Coach, and also serves as Adjunct Faculty at Missouri State University where she teaches professional communication courses to MBA students. Prior to launching her consulting business, LeAnne was a faculty member and the Director of Public Speaking in the College of Media and Communication at Texas Tech University where she served for 14 years. Alongside her husband Ben, she is a proud mom to three children and two pet prairie dogs.

At each event, several companies will have tables set up where you can learn about job opportunities, internships, and career paths. This is a fantastic chance to connect directly with recruiters and explore potential career opportunities.
