Creating Healthy Boundaries

Overview

As young girls, you may have received certain messages when trying to express yourselves, your emotional needs, or otherwise assert yourselves.  You learned quickly and adapted then.  But why is it so hard now, as an adult, to say no? Ask for help? Or communicate essentially any needs?

Setting and maintaining boundaries is a critical part of self-care and life balance. They are unique and personal, like promises made to ourselves. Which is why they can be made and held with confidence – that you are taking care of yourself with every boundary that you maintain. In this session we will explore why holding boundaries feels so uncomfortable, the role that stereotypical gender roles play, and how to set and maintain them with intention.

Meet Angela

Angela Langer is a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) practicing as a psychotherapist, coach and consultant.

She started practicing as a therapist in 2016 and quickly came to recognize common patterns in neurodivergent high achieving women. In 2019 she started her private practice and began to specialize in serving women with invisible differences who are burning themselves out trying to fit into an ideal.

Angela is driven by her mission to help women seeking to further liberate themselves from the constraints of gendered societal expectations and ableism and change the ways in which they experience therapy and self-help.
